Loretta Lynn
Annapolis, Maryland, 1975
There have been few country stars as popular, and
as loved, as the "Coal Miner's Daughter." Lynn's fans lived
her life along with heran ongoing soap opera that included enduring
a childhood of poverty, achieving a dramatic rise to stardom, and
fighting depression. Hollywood made a movie about her life in 1980
with Sissy Spacek in the starring role. And Lynn had dozens of top-ten
hits, many of which she wrote herself, such as "Don't Come Home
a Drinkin' (with Lovin' on Your Mind)," "Your Squaw is on
the Warpath," "You Ain't Woman Enough (to Take My Man)"
and, of course, her signature "Coal Miner's Daughter." |
