Tammy Wynette
Skating Rink, Waltham, Massachusetts, 1976

Country singers often live soap-opera-like personal lives and no one typifies this more than Tammy Wynette. She was as a part-time beautician, had major hit songs, married and divorced megastar George Jones, and constantly battled major health problems, which eventually killed her in 1998 at age 57. Tammy was best known for "Stand by Your Man," known as Hillary Clinton's least favorite song. Other hits included "Your Good Girl's Gonna Go Bad," "I Don’t Wanna Play House," and "D-I-V-O-R-C-E," as well as memorable duets with George Jones, such as "Golden Ring" and "We're Gonna Hold On."
